I'm starting to write down the rule and we still need to discuss a lot of things so, here's the first one.

How many runs and how many attempts for best trick should there be?

Option 1
Prelim
2 runs, best is kept
3 BT, best is kept
Finals
3 runs, best is kept
5 BT, best 2 are kept

Option 2
Prelim
2 runs, best is kept
3 BT, best is kept
Finals
2 runs, best is kept
5 BT, best 2 are kept

Option 3
Prelim
2 runs, best is kept
Finals
3 runs, best is kept
5 BT, best 2 are kept

Option 4
Prelim
2 runs, best is kept
Finals
2 runs, best is kept
5 BT, best 2 are kept

3 or 4 are the best, in my opinion. Best trick for everyone in prelims is not necessary.

If I'm being totally honest, I think I'd like it best if in the finals we did three runs and kept the two best runs— so a modified option 3. It forces riders to be creative and doesn't give them three tries at the same exact line.

Otherwise, I think option 4 is best.

Either option 3 or 4. I would go for option 3 and have 3 runs each. With the limited amount of riders in finals I think you could give them 3 runs.

Option 3 is the best in my opinion too, and I very like Eli's suggestion on keeping the best 2 runs in the finals.

Having best trick attempts in prelims could get very time consuming.

At some point we should also discuss how many riders qualify for the final. I hope this is not off-topic here as the number of runs determine the length of the comp in general, and therefore the number of riders we could have in the final. I believe the system we work on right now would easily allow to have 8 or maaaaybe even more riders in the finals.

I agree with what the others have said. Option 3

Comment

Option 3
Prelim
2 runs, best is kept
Finals
3 runs, best is kept
5 BT, best 2 are kept

OR

Option 3.5
Prelim
2 runs, best is kept
Finals
3 runs, 2 best are kept
5 BT, 2 best are kept

The only problem with keeping 2 runs out of 3 is that we'll see a drastic reduction of difficulty in the runs because it leave almost no room for error. I would rather see, 2 runs best is kept for finals, or 4 runs, best 2 are kept.
