Since the tyre contact point is defined as the center of the tyre contact patch, and the contact patch has finite dimensions, the tyre contact points crosses the 5m line LATER than when the unicycle tyre touches the 5m line. The proposal removes this inconsistency, by simply not referring to the touching of the line, but only to the passing of the line by the tyre contact point.
